Come To Me
leave them all and come to me
i hate to see you burning free
from all restraints of love
the ties and obligations strung by these
half-hearted
sleep-walking
heroes of wax kingdoms
are ties and obligations
far too weak and melting wet
and glistening in an
unconscious
tribute
to your independence
i say come to me
come and wrap your arms around
my illnesses
come and run your fingers through
my shortcomings
i flaunt them readily
as these waxen figures hide them
until you blaze beyond and find it anyway
you know i lie to them
i fly to spy on them
i know how to get by them
come to me
in my secret little pocket of the world
where music and the moon are entities
where i've found a few
guardian angels
here where there is only me
only a few candles burning
out of their waxen cloaks and jeans
reminding me
this room is by far safer
than their slippery
melting world
i am not beautiful or deep as you
my eyes will never be
bottomless
as yours are
but there is warmth and dry-eyed windows
peering out on silver-mooned
star-studded midnight tapestries
just for you
and i shall cling to you
for my dear life
love
come to me
